June’s Digital Berkshire sees us return to the beautiful home of Digital Berkshire – South Hill Park Arts Centre in Bracknell at 7pm on Thursday 21st June, 2012.
Philip Spedding, Director of Arts & Business will be joining us as our speaker for the evening. Arts & Business ‘sparks new partnerships between commerce and culture‘ and we are delighted to welcome Philip to give us some fascinating insight into the valuable work of the organisation.
Against a backdrop beginning in the 15th Century with the Medici banking family and their sponsorship of Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci, Philip Spedding fast forwards through the last 500 years in Britain to focus in detail on the last 30 years of businesses utilising culture and the advantages of modern technology to achieve their business objectives.
Illustrated with examples ranging from Sony Playstation at the V&A Museum to the Angel of The North, his talk will investigate how people’s experience of culture is changing and how business can use this to fashion new relationships with their customers and the environment.
Philip has advised businesses ranging from American Express in New York to Deutsche Bank in London and Samsung in Seoul and he has helped arts organisations across the UK. He is on the management committee of the Charity Tax Group and has advised the Treasury, amongst others, on tax efficient giving.
Our sponsors for this month’s event are Wirehive, the digital agency hosting specialists and founders of the Wirehive100 – the south / south east’s awards and league table for agencies outside London.
Finally, if you have any suggestions for future Digital Berkshire speakers, venues or sponsors, please let us know – speak to Jocelyn from Metakinetic (@JocelynKirby), Martin from Digital Media Centre at South Hill Park (@Martin_Franklin), James from The MC Group (@JMonjack) or the newest member of the Digital Berkshire team, Adrian Grinrod from Enterprise Nest.
